Class Description

In this fun, informative 3.5-hour workshop, you'll learn several surface decoration techniques, including how to make your own colourful monoprints, using newsprint transfers layered with slip and underglaze and applied on leather-hard pottery. We'll also learn how to do mocha diffusions, a technique that creates intricate veined patterns on clay that resemble trees or rivers. A tutorial on how to make your own coloured slip is included. NOTE: Members are free to bring a few leather hard pieces to work on, but tiles will be provided.
