Monthly Studio Memberships

Memberships (studio and firing) are only open to students who’ve completed at least two 6 or 8-week classes at Ford City Potters.

Our memberships are designed for independent artists who:

  • Can work without direct supervision or assistance

  • Manage their own materials and firing processes independently

  • Maintain a quiet, focused working atmosphere

  • Respect the space of fellow artists at all times

  • Follow studio safety protocols without reminders

  • Clean and maintain shared spaces without prompting

 

Membership decisions are based on our assessment of an applicant's ability to meet these specific requirements and contribute positively to our established studio environment. Decisions are made on an individual basis and consider not just the applicant's needs but the overall studio community's enjoyment and safety.

What’s included in your membership:

​​​​​​​

  • 24/7 access to the studio, up to 9 hours per week, booked weekly starting Sundays.

  • Full access to studio wheels, tables, slab roller, extruder and tools. You must be comfortable working with all of these.

  • A selection of studio glazes. 

  • Dedicated storage shelf. (Use of a personal damp box for a small fee.) 

  • Firings.

All clay must be purchased through Ford City Potters. We use cone 6 clay and can special order your favourites.

Monthly Firing Memberships

Only open to those who've taken at least 2 multi-week classes with us, to ensure familiarity with our strict studio protocols. There are two firing levels. $50.00 a month includes your bisque and glaze firings (one full shelf per month (53cm wide, 32cm high An extra $25 charge for additional shelf.)

You may use your own Cone 5/6 glazes, that must be pre-approved. ​Access to our studio glazes is an additional $30.00/month.

Both memberships require that all your clay (Cone 6) be purchased from us to ensure uniformity. Glaze memberships require 1/2 hour orientation which you'll book when your membership begins. ​​Note that glazing is only possible during certain class times which you'll be able to view on our studio app.

    Only for students who have taken a minimum of 2 multi-week classes and can work independently. Includes up to 9 hours/week of studio time, booked on an app.
     

  • Firing Service

    50$
    Every month
    +$25 Orientation
    Took classes and now want to cultivate a home practise? Firing includes 1 full 53 cm (21") shelf per/month. Max height 32 cm. Only cone 6 glazes. Clay purchased from FCP.
