Class Description
Wheel + Surface Design: a ceramics intensive 6-Week Session taught by local potter and sgraffito master, Tricia Leach Each student receives a half sleeve of clay and dedicated wheel time. Weeks 1–3: Throwing & Trimming Build a body of work at the wheel, developing form, consistency, and control. Weeks 4–5: Surface Design Tricia leads students through three decorative techniques — sgraffito, underglaze painting, and decorative attachments — with an emphasis on developing a cohesive visual language across your work. Week 6: Glaze Dip & Finish A guided glaze dip session closes out the course. Materials included: half sleeve of clay. Some wheel experience recommended. NOTE: A minimum number of students must be enrolled for the class to proceed. We are a scent-free environment.

Cancellation Policy
Studio Policies Students are not permitted to load, unload, or operate pottery kilns. Keep hair tied back for safety. Avoid wearing loose articles of clothing or jewelry that could pose hazards. Closed-toe and closed-heel footwear must be worn in the pottery studio. Do not operate any equipment without the presence of an instructor. We are a scent-free environment. All completed work must be collected from Ford City Potters within 6 weeks after the final class, once you're notified by email. Work will not be stored after 6 weeks. Students are expected to arrive on time for each class to ensure the smooth running of the session. Late arrivals cannot make up for lost time. For whatever reason, if Ford City Potters must cancel a session or class, students will be notified via email, and a full refund will be issued. Classes must be paid in full upon registering on the website (credit card or PayPal accepted). Classes are non-refundable. Makeup days are possible only for glazing days, and only if a space is open in another class. Students are expected to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment in the classroom, treating the instructor and fellow participants with courtesy and consideration. Zero tolerance for disruptive or disrespectful behaviour. In other words, be kind at all times.
