Class Description
Wheel 2— Level Up Your Practice For students who've completed Wheel 1 or have equivalent experience. You can centre. You can pull a wall. Now it's time to make work that really reflects you. Wheel 2 picks up where the basics leave off. You'll learn to throw and fit a snug lid, pull and attach handles that feel comfortable and look right, and build cohesive dinnerware — bowls, plates, mugs — with consistency across a set. Along the way you'll explore surface design through carving and texture, and get hands-on with underglazes to bring colour and pattern into your work. Expect guided demos, plenty of wheel time, and feedback tailored to where you're at. Makeup classes only for glaze nights and only if there is space in another glazing class. Minimum enrolment required. We are a scent-free environment.

Studio Policies Students are not permitted to load, unload, or operate pottery kilns. Keep hair tied back for safety. Avoid wearing loose articles of clothing or jewelry that could pose hazards. Closed-toe and closed-heel footwear must be worn in the pottery studio. Do not operate any equipment without the presence of an instructor. All completed work must be collected from Ford City Potters within 6 weeks after the final class, once you're notified by email. Work will not be stored after 6 weeks. Students are expected to arrive on time for each class to ensure the smooth running of the session. Late arrivals cannot make up for lost time. For whatever reason, if Ford City Potters must cancel a session or class, students will be notified via email, and a full refund will be issued. Classes must be paid in full upon registering on the website (credit card or PayPal accepted). Classes are non-refundable. Makeup days are only possible if space is open in another class during the same session, and only one class per session can be made up. If it's a glaze class you want to make up, and it's not possible to schedule it during the session, we will glaze your items for you. Students are expected to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment in the classroom, treating the instructor and fellow participants with courtesy and consideration. Zero tolerance for disruptive or disrespectful behaviour. In other words, be kind at all times.
