Class Description
Design Your Own Dinnerware: A 6-Week Intensive with Dayna Wagner Learn to design and throw a complete, cohesive dinnerware set from a true local master. Dayna Wagner of Wagner Dinnerware specializes in bespoke dinnerware and mugs and now she's ready to pass along the craft she's spent years refining. Note: this course is designed for experienced potters, not beginners. You should already be comfortable throwing and trimming and duplicating — this class is about taking those skills further, guiding you through the full process of thinking through and designing your own dinnerware set, with Dayna's hands-on tips for refining your throwing and trimming along the way. Course Outline (roughly): Week 1: Design your set — bring a drawing pad and inspiration. There will be slides. Plan your carving and underglaze approach, then begin throwing plates. Week 2: Finish plates; begin throwing bowls. Week 3: Finish bowls; begin throwing drinking vessels. Week 4: Trimming and fine-tuning your full set. Week 5: Carving and underglazing. Week 6: Final glaze night. Week 7 (optional): Display night — pick up your finished set, enjoy a holiday party, and photograph your work. By the end of six weeks, you'll walk away with a complete, one-of-a-kind dinnerware set designed and made entirely by you — with expert guidance every step of the way.

Cancellation Policy
Studio Policies Students are not permitted to load, unload, or operate pottery kilns. Keep hair tied back for safety. Avoid wearing loose articles of clothing or jewelry that could pose hazards. Closed-toe and closed-heel footwear must be worn in the pottery studio. Do not operate any equipment without the presence of an instructor. All completed work must be collected from Ford City Potters within 6 weeks after the final class, once you're notified by email. Work will not be stored after 6 weeks. Students are expected to arrive on time for each class to ensure the smooth running of the session. Late arrivals cannot make up for lost time. For whatever reason, if Ford City Potters must cancel a session or class, students will be notified via email, and a full refund will be issued. Classes must be paid in full upon registering on the website (credit card or PayPal accepted). Classes are non-refundable. Makeup days are only possible if space is open in another class during the same session, and only one class per session can be made up. If it's a glaze class you want to make up, and it's not possible to schedule it during the session, we will glaze your items for you. Students are expected to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment in the classroom, treating the instructor and fellow participants with courtesy and consideration. Zero tolerance for disruptive or disrespectful behaviour. In other words, be kind at all times.
